Samenvatting

'El Camino del Vino' (The Ways of Wine) gaat over sommelier Charlie Arturaola. Wanneer zijn talent hem in de steek laat, raakt hij compleet in paniek. Hij zegt al zijn optredens af en besluit terug naar af te gaan. Terug naar waar het allemaal begint: de wijngaard. Op deze zoektocht komt hij behalve dichterbij de oorsprong van wijn ook dichter bij zichzelf en zijn motivatie.
Deze cross-over tussen documentaire en featurefilm vertelt zowel over de dure, snelle wereld waarin het speciale beroep dat Arturaola uitoefent gangbaar is, als over de bevlogenheid van kleinschalige wijnproducenten waarin Arturaola alles leert waar hij zijn vak aan te danken heeft. En dat alles met als achtergrond de meest prachtige landschappen van Argentinië en Uruguay.
