Favourite literary adaptation 

Favourite literary adaptationTogether with the PZC, Zeeland’s local newspaper, Film by the Sea looked for the best literary adaptation of the previous season. Festival director Leo Hannewijk has put 25 nominated films on the shortlist. It was possible to vote until 1 July 2010.

 

'Precious' directed by Lee Daniels was chosen the best literary adaptation of the season of 2009-2010. 

The top 5 will be shown during Film by the Sea.

 

FbtS Award

Ten recent international and national literary adaptations have the chance to become the best literary adaptation of Film by the Sea. A jury consisting of Dutch and Flemish professionals hands out the Film by the Sea Award.

Opening film of Film by the Sea 2010 is The American by Anton Corbijn. The film  is based on the bestseller A Very Private Gentleman by Martin Booth. The main roles are played by George Clooney and Thekla Reuten.
