Film by the Sea will collaborate with the renowned Italian film festival Giffoni Experience. The two film festivals started their collaboration to strengthen each other’s (international) appeal.

Film by the Sea will assemble a Dutch jury to attend the Giffoni Experience. From 18 to 31 July, when Giffoni takes place, a youth FbtS jury will be sent to the Italian film festival. Also, during the 12th edition of Film by the Sea, a conference is held in which Giffoni’s director Claudia Gubitosi will be one of the most important speakers.

Leo Hannewijk, festival director of Film by the Sea, is pleased with the collaboration: “Giffoni is a well-respected festival that has found a good model for engaging youths in film art. The region of Campania is highly involved in the promotion of the festival. This collaboration offers the possibility to use their experience at Film by the Sea.”

Claudio Gubitosi is satisfied equally: “The collaboration with Film by the Sea offers the Giffoni Experience the opportunity to expand its international profile and we are pleased to offer them our expertise. Giffoni and Vlissingen have much in common and that offers great opportunities for collaboration and promotion. I would like to show in what way a region and its products can be involved in a cultural event.”
